Classical Ringtones Fuel Industry Growth

Does it surprise you that the majority of ringtones downloaded are by young users, particularly those in the 18 to 25 age group? Well, it shouldn?t be. After all, this age group has a good chunk of discretionary income available to it as many young people are still being supported by their parents either because they are still in college or living at home with their folks while they start their careers. One group that hasn?t shown all that much interest in ringtones are the over 55 crowd. They also happen to be loyal cell phone users, just the market that ringtone companies want to get.

One way that the ringtone industry is adjusting to get the booming group of baby boomers in their camp is by offering songs that they know and love from their youth. All of the tunes from the Beatles, the Allman Brothers, David Bowie, Foghat, and hundreds of other groups are now available.
